JoggerMom Marathon + Giveaway

I am a Jogger Mom.  I get some of my running in by pushing a 25 lb stroller containing a 17 lb bundle of energy for miles.  The longest mileage we have put on our Bob Revolution is a 10 mile run while Chris and I were training for the Go! St. Louis Half Marathon.  So when Joggermom reached out to me and asked if I wanted to participate in their virtual marathon I said heck yes!  The premise is to run 26.2 miles in 31 days.  Easy right?

Although it is a virtual “race” it is not about who finishes the miles first or runs them the fastest … it is about carving out time to get them in even though all of our lives are busy and full of organized (or not so organized) chaos.  On top of the sense of accomplishment of achieving a goal there are some pretty awesome prizes up for grabs including a B.O.B. Revolution SE Single Stroller like mine!  Even better?  10% of your registration fee is being donated to the American Heart Association.  Right up my alley!  I posted about my passion for educating women about heart disease back in February :)

Although the race officially started May 1, there is still time to register!  Registration is open until midnight on May 15.  Registration is only $15 to join in on the fun.  You can register HERE.

  1. Because of my husband’s work schedule, my only option is the jogging stroller or a video at home. I just always remind myself that I never regret a workout. That usually gets me motivated!

  2. I turned 40 in January. I have 5 kids. I work from home. I was never a runner.
    I am finding that it is liberating and makes me feel better.
    I’ve been trying to make time in the mornings after the big kids have left for school. Makes my days flow better & my brain process the transcriptions better! It’s becoming easier to be part of my life! (and it’s free, except the race fees…)

  3. As a full time working mom of a almost 6 month old it can be difficult to fit in fitness. I always try to park in the back row or parking lots and take the stairs everyday to sneak in a little fitness. I like to walk/jog with my little one on the weekends as well!

  4. I try to keep walking my dog a high priority and he doesn’t let me forget so this keeps me motivated to get some exercise even when I am feeling busy!

  5. I make sure I run or exercise early in the day before I get too busy, because otherwise things happen and I start to lose motivation and energy!

  6. Yesterday I needed to hit up the library and the post office… so I parked at one location and headed on to the next! I also love having my son involved because it’s teaching him to be active. He’s only two months, but I plan to make this a lesson I teach quite often.

  7. I like to run with Nolan in our stroller, but I’ve only gone about 30 minutes at a time with him so far. I also like to work out in the morning while he’s sleeping. I’ve been dealing with a pulled butt muscle, though, so workouts have been pretty sparse around here. I’m so excited to get back to my workouts this week! I feel so good when I’m working out regularly:-).

  8. I would love to be able to go jogging with the little ones. Right now my husband and I carve out time to exercise while the kids are asleep no matter how busy we are. We fell and sleep better after.
