Wedding: The Honeymoon

We are off to Hilton Head Island today to hit the beach and do some shopping.  This girl is coming with us and I am SO excited to soak up some Vitamin D.  I hope Emmie loves the beach as much as her mama.  Chris and I celebrated our anniversary earlier this week and I finished up my wedding posts last week.  That means it’s time for our honeymoon!!  :)

We are really blessed and Chris’ parents treated us for our honeymoon.  Our alarm clock went off at 4:30AM the morning after our wedding and we were on way!  We aren’t morning people so I am pretty sure we were the only newlyweds ever not talking to each other haha.  Our destination was Sandals Grand Bahamian in the Bahamas.  I have nothing but great things to say about Sandals.  We will happily vacation there again.  The food was great, service superb, and the rooms amazing.

The view from our room … Not a bad way to wake up :)

We spent a lot of our honeymoon playing beach volleyball.  I loved every second of it.  We also spent a lot of our time on opposing teams.  We are pretty competitive haha.

We also met some really awesome friends on this trip.  Julia and (her) Chris were there for fun and we all hit it off right away.  I still chat to Julia from time to time and I am working on convincing her that we all need to vacay together again.  Julia … I know you’re reading … we need to make this happen 😉

We also went snorkeling a couple of times.  The first time we went through Sandals and just went off shore from our resort.  The water is SO amazing!

Our second snorkeling trip was off the resort at Stuart’s Cove.  Stuart’s Cove is used a lot for documentaries on sharks due to the high population.  We went on a shark snorkel and it was pretty cool!  Due to the fact that it was mating season most of the sharks go way off-shore so Chris only saw 2.  BUT at the end of our snorkel they baited the water and it turned into a feeding frenzy … insane!

Hope you are all having a GREAT weekend!  :)
