WIAW … Emmie’s Eats

Happy Wednesday friends!  Chris had a 4-day weekend last week so this week is going by super fast!  Being Wednesday, it means it’s time for another ‘What I Ate Wednesday‘ with the lovely Jenn of Peas and Crayons!

I was dealing with some iPhoto and camera problems yesterday with importing so I actually missed my meals.  OOPS.  However, I captured all of Emmie’s so this week is all about her … with some mommy thrown in 😉

BREAKFAST

I had two eggs scrambled with spinach and cheese with a Vans protein waffle on the side with PB and syrup.  I also had a small bowl of cantaloupe.  Emmie had 2 whole-wheat mini waffles, 1 egg scrambled with spinach, and diced cantaloupe.  Perfect example of how we do baby led weaning … Em eating what I eat 😉

WORK OUT

We were out at the softball fields LATE Monday night so none of us got to bed until 10:30PM.  Em was off yesterday morning while she righted herself.  I got through 35 minutes on the treadmill before she decided it was time to go home.  I love working out but I love being a mom more so home it was!

LUNCH

I was on the phone with Maria and totally forgot to take a picture of my lunch.  I had a turkey sandwich on whole-wheat bread with cheese and spinach.  On the side some organic grapes.  Em has a similar lunch … chopped deli turkey, blueberries, and steamed broccoli.  A few puffs were thrown in 😉

SNACKS

A local peach from the farmer’s market, Chobani with Love Grown Foods granola, and {not pictured} some pretzel crisps with roster red pepper hummus.

FARMER’S MARKET

After Emmie’s afternoon nap she and I headed down the street to the Richmond Hill Farmer’s Market at J.F. Gregory Park.  This market seriously rocks.  There are a ton of vendors out there.  I buy a lot of our produce from a CSA farm that comes to the market every week.  Their food is so fresh and delicious.  This week I also got some homemade bread for dinner and some steak from Hunter Cattle Company.  Hunter Cattle Company is a local farm that practices humane farming and provides all grass-fed beef.  LOVE IT.  The Richmond Hill Farmer’s Market is every Tuesday from 3-7PM if you’re local and interested :)

DINNER

I made a new recipe tonight and it was an epic fail.  It wasn’t inedible but it’s not something we will make again.  Em however loved her dinner of leftover lasagna.  Baby eating lasagna = guaranteed bath.

AND just because she’s so dang cute … one more picture of Emmalyne :)

Do you shop at a farmer’s market?  What was your favorite meal this week?
