Post Baby Body: 8 Months
| June 7, 2012 | Posted by Madeline @ Food, Fitness, and Family under 7-9 Months, Baby, FitFluential, Moms, Post Baby Body, Postpartum |
Since Emmie wowed you all yesterday with her awesomeness be prepared to be underwhelmed by her mama haha. If you’re new to these updates check out my post-baby weight-loss journey:
By the pictures …. Here I am at 7 months:
And here I am today:
I am really happy with where I am at but good God these pictures are awful haha. I have reached my pre-pregnancy size and measurements. My goals at this point are purely for myself. I would love to drop a few more pounds and definitely work more on my abs. I still feel a bit “pooched” which is the name of the game for a mama but some added planks never hurt anyone l)
MEASUREMENTS
EATING
This is the department I can certainly do better in. With traveling to Disney I ate whatever I wanted. While I tried to make healthy choices I also indulged quite a bit. It really set me back. I also have been fighting a bit of a sweet tooth which is really unlike me. I never really liked sweets until I got pregnant and now I do. It’s so weird. SO my goal for this next month is to clean things up in the eating department and get back on track.
WORKING OUT
This is one area that is going really well for me. Em and I have gotten into a routine of going to the gym right after breakfast in the morning. I do cardio and lift weights and she plays with the other kids in the nursery. I am trying to one of more and build muscle with weights. I am still going to a boot camp class and got back into yoga classes this week which felt amazing! I don’t have any races on the calendar until October so I am just trying to keep my mileage up a little bit for stability. I also am looking to start playing tennis once a week with a local women’s league
I just want to thank you guys for sticking with me on this journey and humoring me with these posts. While I don’t expect to see a lot of changes in my measurements I still want to keep up with these updates until a year as an acceptability tool for myself. I am really proud of what I have accomplished in 8 short months and the support of my family, friends, and all of you has been immeasurable
SO thank you!
AND because no post is complete without some Em in it … here she is at lunch yesterday. She has officially figured out how to feed Bailey and Bails couldn’t be happier.

Planks, planks, planks! Thanks girl
I love these updates! Very impressive, your hard-work has paid off. I’m in the same boat as you now, down to pre-baby weight but hoping to lose a few more before I start working on baby #2!

You look fantastic! I wish I could say the same for myself. Been at my pre-pregnancy weight for a few months but not toned at all which is totally un like me. Ugh. Still struggling to find the balance between work and baby to exercise.
Congrats!

Just adding in some planks, push-ups, and squats could help! I do them during commercials
OMG. I think we are living the same life. Not the baby body, that one is all you. But we also have an 8 month old and what looks like THE SAME dog. weeeiiiiirrrrddd.

You look great! You should be proud! The pouch is probably just maternal fat stores. I have a 13 month old. I stopped breast feeding at 11.5 months and the next month the pouch was gone! Keep up the core work, it will go away
Thanks … that is so good to hear
You’re looking great!

You look fabulous and should be ridiculously proud of yourself. I hope when I have a baby my experience will bring such reflective insight to myself and my body. Keep it up!

You look great!! I lost the weight within a couple months but its toning that needs work! But for some reason my motivation totally goes away during the summer (hot weather? not sure) which is not the best timing for bikini season!
