What To Expect Books #newmom

What To Expect {Giveaway}

Being pregnant is scary.  That is a fact that I realized the moment I found out I was expecting Emmalyne.  The fear of the unknown, the path ahead, and the need to protect your baby is overwhelming.  Lucky for me I was given What To Expect When You’re Expecting.

What To Expect When You're Expecting

This book was a lifesaver and gave me access to so much valuable information whenever I needed reassurance.  So when the awesome people over at What To Expect contacted me the other week I was beyond shocked and excited.  They sent me three of their books and I have loved all of them!

What To Expect Books #newmom

I have been reading a lot of What To Expect: The First Year since I got it and I wish I had had it sooner!  It details all the different stages and developmental milestones along with helpful advice for new moms.  You better believe that What To Expect: The Second Year is going to be a well-read book come October 😉

The best part of all of this?  What To Expect wants to share their goodies with you!  They will be giving away all three books to two (2) lucky Food, Fitness, and Family readers!  All you need to do is leave me a comment on this post about what you wish you had known when you were expecting. You can also send this tweet for an additional entry:

  1. I focused so much on labor I really didn’t think too much about those first few weeks, I wish I would have known more…or maybe ignorance was bliss! lol!

  2. My husband and I always tell our friends that the first few weeks are going to be TOUGH! We wish someone had come clean and told us. It would have made it easier. After that it does get easier but those first few weeks….wow!!! We are reminding ourselves of that as we are expecting our second in October!!

  3. Definitely proper nutrition and what exercises you can do while pregnant are always good to learn. Also, when baby comes, how to juggle it all.

  4. My husband and I just started trying for our first baby so I can’t say there’s anything I wish I had known, but instead, I still need to learn everything! These books would certainly help me in not feeling so overwhelmed..and we aren’t even pregnant yet!

  5. Im not having a baby but I have a close friend that is 3 months and would love to give this great giveaway to her!

  6. I wish I would’ve have known that all babies are DIFFERENT and not to compare my little one to anyone else’s. I also wish I would’ve known to trust my body more in regards to breastfeeding….I’m still going strong at 11 months, but there were many tears shed during moments of confusion and exhaustion!

  7. I haven’t been pregnant yet, but my niece currently is at the young age of 18, and I think she would benefit greatly from having these books.

  8. Things I still wish I would have known (seeing as the pregnancy part isn’t over yet haha): how much you have to adapt. As independent as I am, I hate having to adapt to certain things. Like, running slower or even not being able to lift the water cooler jug onto the water cooler!

Other than the adapting, I can’t wait to meet this little one in November (aka: another whole new adaption lol)

  9. I’m 8 weeks away from delivering and I wish I would have known to truly expect the unexpected! So much happens to your body and mind and so many hiccups can occur in your pregnancy throughout the nine months– I’ve learned to just “roll” with it all which is sometimes easier said than done!

(Love your blog by the way! :-D)

  10. Hi there! First timer to your blog! I am 46 days from my due date and have found the What to Expect book an invaluable resource and would love to have the 1st and 2nd year books too as I go along as a new mom.

  11. I’m not pregnant yet.. But, with wedding soon & baby fever on the brain — well it hopefully happens within the next year and a half. And well … I HOPE TO KNOW EVERYTHING. haha. I’m seriously going to be that mom who reads every book and searches every website. haha.

  12. Well, I don’t know what I don’t know because I’m anxiously waiting to find out if this month is the month I get pregnant :-) So I suppose I could really use some books to keep me informed right from the start. Thanks for the chance to win!

  13. I’m currently expecting my first child — two months to go! I am most nervous about what to expect when I go into labor. Appreciate any pointers!

  14. I’m not married, so the question doesn’t really apply to me – but I can think of some friends who would really enjoy this book!

I have NO idea what to expect!

  15. I’m about a month away from said delivery day and I wish I would’ve expected the fact that you can cry over anything, anytime. I’ve never been so emotional in my life :-) Also, to sleep as much as possible because the end of the third trimester is the end all of sleep.

  16. I’m not expecting, but we hope to be in the next year! My friends are ALL preggo (so it seems) and learning from them is fun, but I’m totally a book learner. I like to go back and re-check things without totally annoying someone with the same questions!

  17. I just had my first baby 12 days ago, and I am so thankful I read What
To Expect When Your Expecting. However, I wish I would have known that everyone will tell you different things about pregnancy but you have to make your own choices of what you think is best for you and your little one. But like many others I have not been as prepared for the first year, so having the 2nd and 3rd books would be awesome.
