A Perfect Sunday

Happy Monday friends! I hope you all had an awesome weekend. Good luck to all of you teachers who are going back to school today! In case you missed it, here were my posts from the weekend:
- Fitness Friday + Wrap-Up of Week 4 of BBB
- Weekly Top 10 featuring my favorite bloggers from last week
Yesterday was just one of those days that was awesome. I had planned on doing 7-miles with two of my girlfriends but alas both of them weren’t feeling well. SO I headed out for a solo run. I got out just as the sun was coming up.
I kept this run in and around my neighborhood. I took a trail to the neighborhood next to us and ran out further until I hit the water. It kind of amazes me that I get to run in such a gorgeous setting all the time.
I love running with my friends but there is something about the silence and solitude of a solo run. I tend to have some random thoughts throughout it. I also got to enjoy nature …
Wildlife spotted:
- 1 million + Fiddlers crabs
- 8 squirrels
- 1 snake (dead)
- 1 worm
- 5 off-leash dogs
I got back to the house just as Emmalyne was going down for a nap. I was a hot, sweaty, happy mess. My goal pace for the Savannah Rock-N-Roll Half Marathon is 10 minutes/mile and I kept mine at 9:44/mile yesterday. Maybe I got this this year??
When I got home I spent some time doing foam rolling it out while wearing my Zensah compression sleeves and sipping some Nuun. I got some questions about my foam roller on Instagram. We got ours from Walmart for under $15! LOVE it.
The rest of the day I did a little bit of this …
And went to the movies with Chris, Heather, and D. We went and saw “The Campaign” while a babysitter watched Emmalyne and Grace. It was seriously funny if you like Will Ferrell movies and Zach Galifianakis. Then Chris and I came home and grilled in a torrential downpour. It was ok though, it was worth it
We capped off our day with our fantasy football live draft with our friends throughout the country. I had the #1 draft pick this year and got … Aaron Rodgers. I am a HUGE Packers fan but on top of that he’s the best quarterback in the league and likely to win me some FF games
Emmalyne and I leave for Phoenix tomorrow so we got to get busy getting our booties in gear today. Have a happy Monday! Don’t forget to #BeKind

The just AWESOME sentence made me smile.

Im so excited for your trip too and await the blogs so I can live VICARIOUSLY

Awh! I Just Love getting up to run as the sun rises!!! It’s the best! I love upbeat and happy posts like this!! Enjoy your Monday!!!! Spalove!!
The pics of the trail are georgous!
It’s right next to my house! When I get back we should run in one morning : It’s mostly through neighborhoods but then it opens up a bit.
You KNOW I am jealous of where you run everyday!:) I am still so happy that y’all love Georgia so much!! What do you use the foam roller for? Stretching? I need to find some good post-run stretching methods. Safe Travels:)
YES! Foam rolling helps to smooth and lengthen your muscles … kind of like ironing out a wrinkled shirt! LOVE ours and use it daily. There is also a yoga for post-running on DoYogaWithMe.Com that’s great for stretching.
The route looks gorgeous. I always see a million squirrels. If I run on our river trail then I usually get to see much more interesting wildlife like deer, raccoons, I’ve even seen a bobcat!

I am always nervous I am going to see an alligator since they are common in our area haha
Oh my gosh your run is gorgeous! And GO PACK!
Love me my Packers!
Wow, I would be willing to get out and run every day if I had scenery like that to enjoy. Beautiful….except for the dead snake of course. Still, I guess that is better than one that was alive:-)

Sounds like an awesome Sunday! I know nothing about Fantasy Football but they talk about it at work all the time. Maybe you should teach me so I don’t look like an idiot when they talk about it. lol
You know, I told Dylan about the crabs we saw when went a few weeks and he’s so jealous. He’s been asking if I’ll take him so we can walk the trail together and he can see some crabs. Guess I need to work on that. lol

This does sound like the perfect Sunday! I am much more motivated to run with friends too, but there is something to be said about a nice solo run. Sounds like you are doing great on your race training! Keep up the good work.
Great run!! I wish I had your motivation… I’ve stalled at 2.5 miles and can’t seem to get myself to run that 3.1 miles. I think I’m going to sign up for a 5k at the end of Sept, so I better just do it.
