Post Baby Body: 10 Months

Thanks for all your kind comments on Chris’ guest post yesterday! He informed me that he read them all and appreciated them
I love his dry sense of humor and I think he needs to be a more frequent contributor on Food, Fitness, and Family! WOO!
I can’t believe that Emmalyne is 10 months old. I also can’t believe it’s been 10 months since I started my post-baby weight loss journey. I am so proud of how far I have come and I am so proud of what my body has accomplished. Before getting into this month’s update, here is where I have come from:
And here is what I am looking like now …
HOW IS MAMA MEASURING?
I was really surprised when I lost inches around my belly and hips. I honestly thought my hips were done shrinking but I guess not! My weight fluctuates so at this point the number is just that, a number. I am not concerned about losing any more weight at this point. In fact, I am pretty sure it’s going up because I am starting to build more muscle.
EATING
I shared my struggles with my sweet tooth with you guys this month. While it’s not cured, I have been able to reign it in a little bit. It was back out of control when my mother-in-law was here and brought home all sorts of treats. Having them in the house makes it really difficult for me to say no. This week has been back on detox. Other than that, I have kept my eats pretty clean and my water intake around 110 oz still. I am still hungry all the time. And when I don’t snack I get HANGRY. I attribute this to still nursing so we will see how it changes when we wean (not sure when that’ll be though).
WORK OUTS
Going strong! I am preparing for my fall races so I am back to running 4-5 times a week. I also just started Phase Two of Best Body Bootcamp and LOVE this phase so far! It is fitting in perfectly with my training. I can definitely say that there is no slacking in the working out department. I FEEL so much better when I get a good sweat session in so I always make it a priority.
HAPPY PLACE
I am at my happy weight. I can say that this month I have been very confident in how my body looks and what it is able to do. I really feel like my hard work is really starting to show. Everything just feels TIGHTER and I love it. I also know that I am getting stronger and that is my ultimate goal. I don’t want to drop weight … I want to build muscle. I have some big goals in mind for the future! Most of which is to do unassisted pull-ups and PR in my next half marathon
I have been doing a lot of reflecting on my fitness journey these last 10 months. I also have some thoughts for the future. I have a couple of posts in mind to bring you along for the ride. Thanks for all your support these last few months … you have motivated me so much! Two more months of these updates to go … it’s truly amazing how far I’ve come. I am thankful that my body has allowed me to do it and just keeps getting stronger.

You sound so happy and look great! I get super bad if I don’t snack all the time, which I always attributed to my hypoglycemia. Now I just eat all kinds of fruits and veggies throughout the day and I’m good!

You are one FIT ass-kicking minnie. Yeah. That sounds better.
I definitely prefer being a FIT ass-kickin minnie
At 3months post-baby (and madly in love with my little girl!), I love your body after baby and your baby growth posts!! I am inspired by all you have accomplished and your positive attitude! Your daughter has a true role model.
So far I am pleased with my progress, but I do find that my mid-section and upper thighs seems to be “resistant” to toning out…did you find this at all? Might be the EBF’g??
and I love your t-shirt!!
Oh girl … Check out my 3-Months Postpartum post! Those are DEFINITELY the most difficult area to tone and I honestly didn’t feel like I made significant progress there until around 6 months. EBFing can certainly play a HUGE role in that since your body can naturally hold on to 5-12 pounds of fat for “maternal stores”. If you have more questions feel free to shoot me an email at foodfitnessandfamily {at} gmail {dot} com!
Reading these posts keeps me wanting to lose my baby weight too! You look great!
