Fitness Friday

Have you all come out of your food coma yet?  I am not sure we have.  Yesterday was an awesome Thanksgiving for us.  More on that tomorrow though 😉  It’s fitting that today is Fitness Friday because I know how badly we all need some fitness today!

 

Before I get into my week in workouts, I have to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the most amazing husband and dad in the world.  Happy birthday Chris.  I love you more and more as each year passes by.  I can’t wait to celebrate YOU today :)

MONDAY

Monday Walk

 

Monday morning Em and I headed to the gym so I could take a yoga class.  Later in the afternoon we took the pups for a 2.5 mile walk.  I rounded out the day doing Lindsay’s 100 Leg Workout.  I’m still sore.

 

TUESDAY

Tuesday HIIT

 

We were on post at Ft. Stewart on Tuesday so I visited the gym for the first time since moving here.  I loved it!  I plan on doing a post on it soon because it totally deserves it.  I ran for 20 minutes at an easy pace.  My legs were too sore from Monday to do much else.  After, I did drop sets for chest and back.

 

WEDNESDAY

 

CrossFit WOD

 

I was back on post Wednesday so it was back to Newman Fitness Center.  This time I did a 25 minute walking HIIT workout via Fitness RX magazine and then hit the CrossFit area for a WOD.  It’s been MONTHS since I had access to CrossFit equipment and I was STOKED.  I did a scaled down “Morrison”: 30-20-10 of wall balls, box jumps, and kettlebell swings.  And just like that my legs were even more shredded from Monday.

 

THURSDAY

 

Thanksgiving Turkey Trot

 

For Turkey Day yesterday we got up early and did a family and friend 4 mile run.  We didn’t have time to go to Savannah for the Fleet Feet Turkey Trot so we made do.  It was fun getting out with Emmie and Leslie Ann and her husband.  A perfect way to start the day!

 

Today I will be doing something at the gym.  What that is, I am not sure yet.  My left calf is really sore from hitting it on the bed frame and then running yesterday.  Whatever I do might have to be calf friendly.  No matter what, I will be burning off my extra stuffing from yesterday 😉

    1. Thanks Tina! I have the WOD app on my iPhone which I LOVE. It has all “the girls” workouts and hero workouts etc. Plus you can add what weight you used on a day etc. for a running log. Makes doing the WODs a little easier when you have to do them on your own. Hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving!

  1. Happy Birthday to Chris and great workouts! So fun that you got a run in with family and friends yesterday. My husband and I each went off for a run, trading off since someone had to stay home with the boys. I think that I’m finally a little less sore from my workout on Monday. DOMS are killer.
