Weekend Recap
| December 3, 2012 | Posted by Madeline @ Food, Fitness, and Family under Weekend |
Happy Monday peeps! We have had a super fun and productive weekend over here. With Yon in town we have had the opportunity to get some projects done as well as show her Savannah a bit. Like every weekend, this one went too fast and Chris is back at work today. BOO. ;)
SATURDAY
Saturday morning was the annual Richmond Hill Christmas Parade down Ford Avenue. We packed our folding chairs and headed out the door at 9 to find a spot to park and sit. Lucky for us, our church was along the parade route. We met Heather and Grace there and spent the hour we had before the parade grabbing coffee, chatting, and letting the girls play.
We were pleasantly surprised as to how many floats and people there were in the parade. There were multiple high school bands too. Emmie sat on Chris’ shoulders the entire time and was enthralled with the music and the people. Santa himself even made at appearance
After the parade we headed home for lunch and a nap for Emmalyne. I utilized this time to go get a manicure. Mama needed some pampering
Once the Emster woke up we headed downtown to Savannah for some shopping and dinner. After perusing Broughton Street we headed down to River Street and scored a table on the balcony at Fiddler’s Crab House. Unbeknownst to us SAturday was the annual Savannah lighted Christmas parade and it passed right by us. We had awesome dinner entertainment to accompany the great food!
Once we got home and Em was in bed I put on my crafting hat and got to work. My sister pinned an image for a felt Christmas tree in the summer as something I should do for Emmie. I have been meaning to do it for the last couple of weeks, but Gina’s post gave me the kick in the booty to get it done. 30 minutes later and one burned finger from hot glue Emmalyne had her own Christmas tree (and loves it). I just need brown felt for the base and it will be good to go!
SUNDAY
I left the family Sunday morning to meet Heather and Grace at J.F. Gregory Park for a photo session. I have had so much fun shooting Grace over the last couple of months. We got some great photos today too!
The rest of our Sunday was spent watching the Packers win and painting our built-in bookshelves. These shelves have been bugging me for the 7 months we have lived in this house. I asked our rental company to see if the owners would mind if we painted them white to match the beadboard in the room and they said go for it. So we did. Here is the before:
And I will post the after once they are dry and the cabinet doors are reattached. I already love the THAT much more
Heather and Grace helped us to and we also made Grace a felt tree. Yon spoiled us all with traditional Korean food. Overall this weekend was definitely a win!
This is a crazy week for me with a ton of engagements for Chris’ job and our impromptu trip to Orlando that is coming up this weekend. Time to get busy!
How was your weekend? What’s your favorite DIY Pitnerest Christmas craft? I need a new one … I’m on a roll!
