Family Dollar Kidgets Diapers & Wipes

Having a kid is expensive. I am sure this isn’t a revelation to all the moms out there but seriously, it’s no joke. Emmalyne eats as much as a school-age kid (in my opinion) and grows out of clothes at lightning rates. On top of that, we chose to use disposable diapers. While I was all for giving cloth a chance, Chris was not. The first diaper he ever changed was Em’s and he just can’t go the cloth route. He said I was free to, but that I would be the only one on diaper duty so disposables it was
Emmalyne goes through 5-6 diapers a day on average which means we buy diapers every two weeks normally. So when I had the chance to check out the Kidget line of diapers and wipes found exclusively at Family Dollar I jumped up and down.
In the kit I received a travel pack of wipes and a diaper to try. Knowing that one diaper does not a review make, I also got a coupon good for a pack of diapers and another pack of wipes. After hitting the gym last week, I headed to the Family Dollar in Richmond Hill to check it out.
The Family Dollar in Richmond Hill is band new. When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised to see how clean and organized it was. What was even better was the price on the Kidgets diapers. It was $6.50 for a pack of 31 diapers. To me, this is a great price when shopping by convenience and not by bulk. At the grocery store, other brands cost around $9+ a pack for the same amount (or less) of diapers.
While the price was great, the real test would come when I put them on Em’s bum. We tried them out right when we got home before nap time. Em normally wakes up with a messy diaper or at least a heavy one so I figured this would be the ultimate test. When I got her two hours later, there was no leaking. This was a messy diaper so a perfect time to try out the Kidgets wipes too. While the wipes weren’t as thick as other brands, they still managed to do the job. Em normally has a very sensitive bum and we had zero problems with the diapers or the wipes.
Overall I really liked these diapers and wipes and would count on them in a pinch. For the price, they are definitely an affordable option to families on a tight budget.

It’s been ages since I’ve had to change diapers and I had no idea Family Dollar had their own brand of diapers…hmmm, this is information I can pass on to some new mommies I know in case they are looking for something new to try.
Dawn recently posted..Red Robin….YUM!
I have used many brands of diapers and more currently training pants. My experience with the kidgets diapers was pleasing. The quality was good enough for the great price. However, I wasnt pleased with the training pants. They tear easily on sides & are impossible to use after this b/c you cannot tape them. Also, they slide down constantly. Family Dollar brands are usually very dependable but I would not recommend the kidgets training pants to anyone.
That’s good to know! I have no complaints about the diapers but thanks for the input about the training pants.
