A Shabby Chic Baby Shower

I love my Army family. I have said it before and I will say it over and over again, they make this crazy lifestyle worth it. This weekend I had the opportunity to come together with my Fort Stewart family to shower one of our own. Heather, Cassie, and I co-hosted a shabby chic baby shower for our friend Leslie Ann who is expecting her first baby (a girl!) in August!
We kept the decorations pretty simple. In fact, I reused some of the bunting from Emmalyne’s county fair birthday since it went with the theme! We also featured baby pictures of the mom and dad to be which was adorable. We did a couple of sentimental things for LA to keep … all the guests signed “Guess How Much I Love You” and filled out their wishes for the baby.
Since the shower was at 11, we kept the food to easy lunch fare. Fresh fruit with cream cheese dip and vegetables with homemade dill ranch dressing was a starter along with spinach and feta spankatopia and a Greek pasta salad. For the main food, we did three types of sandwiches: tuna (from Uptown deli) on croissants, turkey on mini breads, and my Mediterranean chicken wraps! YUM. And what baby shower is complete without sweets? Not this one! Our dessert bar featured sea salt chocolate caramels, a popcorn mix, pretzel treats, strawberry cupcakes, and red velvet cake pops. Pretty sure all the food helped with my weight gain this week
Leslie Ann is going to be the most amazing mom. I honestly don’t think I have met someone as kind, selfless, and friendly as her. She is one of those people you can’t help but love. She is also a personal trainer and nutritionist so you know we get along well I mean seriously … how cute is she??
I had so much fun working with some of my closest friends here to help make a day special for someone who truly deserves it. I love you ladies!
