Baby #2: 35 Weeks Pregnant

Another Monday!  I can’t believe this is the LAST Monday in October … we could very well have a baby in November and that kind of freaks me out a bit.  Probably time to get going on some projects!  We had a nice weekend over here.  We are finished at the old house and I have a walk-thru with the rental company tomorrow to check out.  WOO!  We also enjoyed Chris’ battalions’ fall fest on Friday night.  The best part of the weekend?  Having a little baby “sprinkle” with my girlfriend’s here in Georgia yesterday.  We are all moms and it is SO nice going to lunch without the kiddos sometimes 😉  Any-who, I also turned 35 weeks pregnant so let’s get to it!

 

35 Weeks Pregnant

What is baby up to at 35 weeks pregnant?

  • Baby is the size of a honeydew melon – or approximately 5 1/4 pounds and 18 inches long
  • Being snug in the womb she probably shouldn’t be doing flips any more – LIES … this one is all over the place still.
  • Her kidneys are fully developed and her liver can process some wastes

 

How is mama feeling?

Weight Gain: At 20 lbs weight gain.  That’s a pound up from last week and right on track.

 

Fitness: Definitely slowing down.  I wrote about how running may be coming to an end for me but then I had a great 3 mile run with Em on Friday.  Run/walk intervals were a lifesaver.  My prenatal yoga series has come to an end but a new one is kicking off so I am hoping to get a few more in.  My right sciatic is starting to give me problems so we will see what I am able to keep doing with that.

 

Baby Position: As I said above, Baby B is still all over the place.  However, I think I am the only mom ever who has no idea what a head or a butt feels like and how to tell the difference.  Side note – I also didn’t realize what hiccups felt like.  Ooops.  I am going to try to get in to the chiropractor this week to help flip her if she is still breech or at the very least see if he can help with my sciatica.

 

Movement: Homegirl has distinct periods of being awake and when she is awake she is AWAKE.  All over rolls and movements.  The other night she woke me up at 3:30AM with some powerful rolls that it hurt.  We spent an hour in the middle of the night together like that.  Fun times.

 

Baby Prep: Well … there is still quite a lot to get done in this aspect.  I painted Baby B’s room last week and will be ordering some new crib sheets this week.  I have a couple of craft projects to help make her room special and will be heading to Target to get the items for my hospital bag this Thursday.  I feel seriously underprepared but Chris starts leave on November 8 so having him home will help us finalize things up.

 

Sleep: Sleep is still on and off.  Some days are better than others but I am pretty tired most of the time.

 

Overall things are moving right along!  I can’t believe we are THIS CLOSE to meeting our second precious daughter :)

 

PS – HUGE congrats to Annette – her baby girl FINALLY came!

  1. Well my post got all crazy, but anyways I can’t tell the difference between a head or butt either! And this is my third and I have no idea if I have ever had a Braxton hick! Ha So don’t feel bad!

  2. My son had MAJOR hick ups when he was in my belly! I totally forgot about that until you mentioned it but it drove me crazy! He also sat on my sciatica towards the end of my pregnancy and caused me a great deal of discomfort. When I finally made it into the chiropractor she worked miracles and the pain went away! Hope it helps you too!

  3. You look incredible! I can’t believe you’ve been running with Em! I’m not brave enough to run w/the stroller – I’m such a wimp I know I’d just walk ha.
