Well hello there friends … yesterday was an unintentional absence from the blog world but truth be told I feel like that might happen a lot over the next 27 months.  Classes started Monday and I am pretty sure my classmates and I were a bit “deer in the headlights” the last two days.  The amount of material being thrown at us is insane.  A phrase our instructors used this week to describe Physician Assistant school is “75% of med school crammed into half the amount of time”.  After two days …. I believe it.


One of the many big changes I am facing is having to pack a full day’s worth of food.  On Mondays and Wednesdays I leave my house at 7:15AM, am in class from 8:30AM-5:00PM and then get home at 6:00PM.  That’s nearly 12 hours out of the house!  I have been packing my food in my FitMark bag (review coming soon!) to try to get me through.  Between nursing and trying to remain active to say I am starving 99% of the day is an understatement.  Luckily, I had the chance to check out the new Kashi Crunchy Granola and Seed Bars via my affiliation with The Sits Girls.

These new bars come in two flavors – Honey Oat Flax and Chocolate Chip Chia.  They both contain some of my favorite healthy ingredients: chia seeds, flax, and quinoa.  They also both deliver 320mg of ALA Omega-3s, fiber, and whole grains.  A major bonus for me is that there they include flax

I’ve been throwing the Chocolate Chip Chia flavor in my lunch box and snacking on it during one of my pumping breaks during the day.  The chocolate provides the perfect amount of sweetness and the flavor is really good.  I also like that they come in sticks – it makes sharing with my snack thief (Emmalyne) a little bit easier 😉

I’ve already seen the Kashi Crunchy Granola and Seed Bars for sale at our local Kroger so make sure to check them out at your neighborhood grocery store.  They are a great snack for on the go and definitely don’t disappoint in flavor!


On that note … today is one of my long days of school.  I have four classes ahead of me so here’s to another day!

  1. You’re inspiring for going back to school with two little ones at home and still breastfeeding and keeping active. I bet you are hungry (and tired)! Those bars looks like the new Kind ones too, which i love. I’m going to have to try these.
