Three Things Thursday #1

Who is READY for the weekend?!  Please tell me I am not along in my 36 hour countdown.  We are heading out of town for a couple of days and I am PUMPED.  This week has been pretty busy in the clinic as I have been slowly increasing my patient volume.  I am officially seeing my minimum amount of patients and still surviving so I am pretty pumped.  I have so many random things that I have been wanting to share with you and haven’t had the chance so I am starting a new series called “Three Things Thursday” so I can update you on my randomness!

1 / Grey’s Anatomy rocks my socks

Greys Anatomy

My Netflix subscription has been getting a lot of use since I graduated PA school and officially have a life again.  After the kids go to bed and my work is done for the night I wind down by watching an episode of Grey’s Anatomy.  It’s no shocker that I am fascinated by medical shows I am sure!  The best part is that Netflix just released episodes through season 12 so I can watch all the way through!  The girls have been LOVING the new episodes of Dragons: Race to the Edge.  Bryn loves her dragons (although her increase in biting MIGHT be related to her passion for the TV show).  Other great shows to catch are Orange is the New Black or Grace and Frankie.

2 / Backpacks as big as my child

Bryn Bryn

First can we discuss how BIG Bryn looks here?  I need someone to hold me.  My baby is growing up too fast and time needs to slow down.  She is really big into “I do it!” and likes to buckle herself into her carseat and insists on carrying her massive backpack into school.  Her independence is both amazing and frightening because the girl doesn’t have an ounce of fear in her (unless there’s a bug involved).

3 // Homegrown Tomatoes

Tomato

My mother-in-law helped me plant a container garden (more on that another day) when she was here after we moved.  I am not known to have a green thumb.  In fact I am pretty much a death sentence to most plants.  However, I have managed to keep some of my plants alive and I got to pick my first tomato yesterday!  Emmalyne LOVES helping with our garden and has been in awe of the little produce we have grown.  It’s been a great learning opportunity for her!  Not to mention nothing tastes better than produce you grey yourself.

That’s all I have for you today!  I would love to hear one of your things for Thursday!

Latest Netflix Obsession

This post is brought to you as part of my partnership with Netflix as a member of their #StreamTeam.

Y’all … my kids have a new obsession and it’s NOT My Little Pony!  I am kind of pumped to be taking a break from Twilight Sparkle for a little bit.  Fortunately our Netflix subscription allows them to branch out occasionally and experience new programming.  While we have cut back on screen time significantly since I finished school and we moved to Missouri the girls have found themselves a tad obsessed with their new favorite show.  Bryn will bring us the remote and say, ‘Dragons?’ in the sweetest little voice.

Dragons Race to the Edge

That’s right … we are officially in a “How to Train Your Dragon” phase.  Fortunately Netflix has both the first and the second movie available and their own original series, Dragons: Race to the Edge.  Even though the series has been out for awhile it’s fairly new to us.  I have to say I am pretty impressed!

Chris and I have found ourselves watching right along with the kids which is kind of unusual since normally we can’t stand what they choose.  The plot line is fun and the story itself entertaining.  It’s been nice having a show the entire family can sit down and enjoy together!

If you’re looking for a show to enjoy with your kids I highly recommend this one.  The movies are pretty sweet too so make sure to watch them along with it!

Oldies but Goodies

Hey friends!  Just checking in real quick before continuing to unpack my house.  I am hoping to get back to a normal blogging schedule now that my life is returning to a new normal.  We are moved, back from vacation, and I have another week before I start my new job.  Basically life is good!  During my vacation though I got to log some quality Netflix time.  Do you even know how many amazing TV series are on Netflix?!  I sure didn’t.  I have found and fallen back in love with some oldies but goodies and thought I would share them with you!

One Tree Hill

I loved One Tree Hill when it was on TV!  I am thrilled to be able to watch it all from the beginning. I might even admit to having owned all the seasons at one time.  #NotSorry.

Gilmore Girls

I’ve already waxed poetic about my love for Gilmore Girls but it deserves a second mention.  I found out when she was here that my mom is making her way through the series too!  Since it reminds me so much of growing up with her it’s kind of fun to be doing it together.  Still can’t wait for the reunion episodes!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

I never got into Buffy when it was on the air but am definitely intrigued now that I can watch the entire series.

Medium

I loved Medium when it was on the air mainly because it’s based on a real person who lives in Phoenix.  I found the plot-lines so interesting but lost track after a couple of seasons.

Charmed

I saved my favorite for last.  Please tell me I am not the only Charmed fan out there?  I loved catching it on reruns and am pumped to be following along from the beginning.  I am officially on Season 2 and have been catching episodes while on the treadmill.

I am off to spend some time with the family watching you guessed it … Netflix.  I just can’t quit it haha.  Chris’ little brother is in town for the weekend from Kansas City and his mom flew back with us from Vegas so we have a full house!  I am hoping to give you some house updates, makeovers, life updates, and more next week.  I have missed you all and am looking forward to reconnecting in this space.

What’s your favorite TV show that is off the air now?

Fuller House

I am quickly popping in to tell you about an awesome new Netflix original … Fuller House!  If you’re like me then you grew up enjoying the antics of the Tanner family.  It was one of those shows that they whole family could enjoy and was appropriate for everyone!  I was pretty pumped when Netflix announced they were bringing them back for a new series!

I watched the first couple of episodes this weekend while walking on the treadmill.  The show is now centered around DJ who is a widower with her three boys.  Stephanie and Kimmy end up moving in to help DJ with her brood.  Your other favorite characters make appearances too with their signature taglines.  While the show itself is a little corny (I mean so was the first) I found myself transported back in time to my childhood.  I enjoyed seeing where these characters ended up in life and I am excited to finish out the series!

Make sure to check it out on Netflix while it’s there!

Happy Friday + Latest Netflix Obsession

Happy Friday friends!  I hope that the week treated you well and that you are as excited about the weekend as I am.  We have some big plans over here … it’s my best friend Jessica’s birthday so we will be out on the town tomorrow night celebrating her!  Other than that we have a pretty long “to do” list as our house officially goes on the market on MONDAY.  EEK!  If you know anyone moving to the Savannah area please send them my way 😉

In other news, I started Gilmore Girls on Netflix and I am officially obsessed.  How did I miss out on this show when it was out?!   I had no idea what I was missing!  I am nearing the end of season 1 and I am absolutely loving the show.

I think part of the reason I love it so much is because I was raised by a single mom. While my mom was certainly no Lorelai I can totally relate to the special bond that she and Rory share.  I truly am enjoying this series and am glad that all the episodes are available for me to stream!  Did you know that they are going to be doing a special reunion on Netflix too??  I am pumped!

Any-who … keeping it short and sweet today!  I have a long busy day in the clinic before sweet freedom commences :)  Happy Friday!
