Fashion Friday // Pink and Navy

Happy Friday friends!  This morning I my second Formative Knowledge Assessment.  Basically our faculty takes 1/3 of our board material and tests us on it every 2 rotations.  So I am taking all the well wishes you’re willing to give me this morning!  I wanted to pop in though and share one of my favorite outfits from this week.  There is just something special about hot pink and navy in my mind and some cooler weather (and freezing classroom) allowed me to throw on some layers!

Fortunately for me I have something big to look forward to today after my test …. I get to be reunited with Presley!  We are off on another family vacation for the weekend and I can’t wait to share it with you next week.  Happy Friday friends!

April Stitch Fix

TGIF my friends!  I came home after a long day Wednesday to a pleasant surprise on my doorstep.  My Stitch Fix was here!  I get super excited every time I schedule one and love coming home to see what they sent.  I think this is probably one of my BEST fixes yet so I am excited to share it with you.  For this month I specifically requested things that would pair nicely for clinic and would look ok under my white coat.  My stylist nailed my style to a T!  If you’re wondering how Stitch Fix (<–affiliate) works you pay a $20 styling fee and fill out a questionnaire to narrow down your style.  Your stylist then picks out 5 things to send you.  Your styling fee goes towards whatever you choose to keep.  Easy peasy!

1.  Romolo – Elsa Chevron Arrow Bib Necklace ($32)

Romolo - Elsa Chevron Arrow Bib Necklace

I LOVED this necklace!  It hangs to just the right level and is super unique.  I am a huge fan of statement necklaces so this is right up my alley.  KEEP.

2.  Pixley – Colibri Heart Print Tab-Sleeve Blouse ($48)

Pixley - Colibri Heart Print Tab-Sleeve Blouse

I really like the print of this shirt and the silky fabric is super comfortable.  Not only will it pair well with a skirt or slacks it also looks super cute with skinny jeans!  KEEP.

3.  Collective Concepts – Adela Embroidered Split Neck Top ($68)

Stitch Fix - Adela Embroidered Split Neck Top

This top was super flattering but I just couldn’t get over the price.  On top of that the bottom of the shirt was a little fitted which wasn’t my favorite.  RETURN.

4.  41Hawthorn – McQue Solid Lace Sleeve Blouse ($48)

I really love how feminine this top is!  I have something a little similar in black from the LOFT but I love the chiffon fabric here and the navy color.  KEEP.

5.  Pixley – Torin French Terry Stripe Blazer ($72)

Stitch Fix - Torin French Terry Stripe Blazer

I requested a colorful blazer for this fix but they didn’t have any so they sent this instead.  It fit really nicely but since it wasn’t what I was looking for I passed.  RETURN.

Overall I am thrilled with my Fix.  It’s been awhile since I kept more than one thing and I could have ALMOST kept everything this time around.  I definitely recommend this service if you’re looking to break out of your fashion comfort zone and have a little fun at the same time :)

Stripes & Leopard Print

Fall is definitely here in the South!  The days in the 80s are dwindling and cooler weather is here.  Besides craving soups I am also loving the change in my wardrobe.  One of the things that I am playing with this season is mixing some patterns.  I’ll be the first to admit that for many years I was less then adventurous when it came to fashion.  Chris actually told me I couldn’t buy anything else that was black at one point haha.

SO I am trying to have some fun and love the combo of stripes and leopard!  I don’t get the opportunity to dress casually very much these days but I took advantage this last weekend.

Super comfortable easy look for a casual weekend.  To be honest, I had been awake for ~10 minutes before getting dressed to head to breakfast so goes to show you can look cute with minimal effort (minus the bed head).

Do you mix patterns?  What are your favorite the mix?

Red & Blue Nautical

After my last fashion post I got a lot of requests to share some more of my outfits and I am happy to oblige!  While I am no fashion blogger, shopping and sharing my finds is a lot of fun to me and I enjoy it.  In PA school we have to wear business casual every day when we are not in scrubs so I have really had to expand my wardrobe since life as a stay-at-home mom didn’t require a lot 😉  I have been a little obsessed with red and navy recently and the nautical theme so this is one of my favorite recent outfits.

Top / Bottoms (similar) / Shoes

The top I got from the J. Crew Factory Store about a month ago and the pants are from The Limited but are no longer available.  The pumps are VERY comfortable after they’re broken which is great when on the move!

Hope you guys have a great Thursday!  It’s ALMOST the weekend :)

Fashion Friday: OOTD

TGIF my friends!  Granted everyday is currently Friday in our house with Chris on leave 😉 Can I just say that I am LOVING having my husband back?!  We’ve been having fun getting things done and just hanging out as a family.

Yesterday I had an OB appointment … and also my first big pregnancy melt down haha.  Everything is looking good with Baby B.  Currently dilated and effaced but we all know that means pretty much nill when it comes to when labor will start.  My melt down came after the appointment when I went to schedule next week’s appointment and I couldn’t see my OB because there wasn’t availability.  Cue the water works.  I felt like such a tool about it but for some reason I couldn’t help it haha.  I really love my OB and trust him completely and the idea of not seeing him for my 38 week appointment made me really sad.  Oh well – thus is military healthcare!  I know absolutely nothing about the OB I am seeing which should be interesting.

Anyway, I thought I would share one of my fall maternity outfits with you guys today.  The weather is finally cooling down here in the coastal south and this preggo is pretty thrilled about it!

Thanks for all your comments yesterday on Emmalyne’s big girl room!  I had so much fun putting it together and am happy you guys like it too :)

That’s all I got for today.  I have to make a big grocery store run to prep for Thanksgiving and for some freezer meals!  Have a great Friday :)
